Metro Wales is a final year project during which the chosen purpose was to create a completely new brand identity, a selling-point driven direction of service as well as a promotional campaign for the new and upcoming public transportation system within Wales. The aim of the project was to research and reflect upon the upcoming changes and future proposals aimed for public transportation and create a business identity based on the findings, focusing on the user-experience and how it may be promoted.

Solution

A new brand was created that reflects on an upcoming public transportation system whilst still reflecting on the long-established elements of the business, retaining some of the more original visual structure. The brand indicates a dynamic and forward-facing nature of the service, promoting a simple yet inviting take on the experience. The app concept invites the users to not only control their travel plans but encourages to explore nearby locations by customizing their own interest and generating unique travel plans tailored to them as well as a convenient top-up card system on the go.
